Can I have some?

welcome to my blog.

a place to post. a place to eat oreos. a place to vent. a place to heal.

i started this blog so i could use a different outlet besides munching on fattening oreos. as if that has done any good... *mind wanders to oreo package in the house...*

then i realized that oreos can be semi symbolic. if you are are that crazy about oreos that is. which... i am.

eating oreos is therapeutic for me. when i am struggling or when i need a pick me up. they have chocolate. and sugar. both of which help lift my mood. not to mention that i eat them soaked with milk, which is my miracle drink.

i post my posts to not only get stuff out. there may be people who read my blog who have been in the same kind of situations as i have. i hope reading them and knowing that others have gone through things like i have, will be to you what eating oreos does to me.

and yes. i didn't capitalize anything in here. i just felt like it. deal with it.

munch up.

Just wanna post I guess

So I have no idea really what this post will be about. I guess I felt the need to update you all after that uh... vexing previous post.

Today was good and productive. Well when it comes to my cross-stitch. I got a lot done on that seeing as today was my hobby day. Then I also had a friend over and we started organizing our card files. If you are a Sidetracked Home Executive and haven't read this book, you must do so. It is a lifesaver.

Anyway (I'm sidetracked can you tell??), I had a friend over and we organized our card files the way they should be and hopefully I'll be able to keep up on it better now.

As for the last post, I was doing better even right after I posted it. Thanks for letting me vex, rant, and rave. I had a great morning then about six my mood slowly but still fast started to go down. Now I'm in the dumps and don't know why. Interesting.... this is called mood swings. I usually don't have them, but this pregnancy seems to have all sorts of surprises in store for me. Once I get the chance I'll take pictures of my cross-stitch and you can see it. It is looking quite well with the sparklyness, and I'll try to get a good focus and all that so you can see the sparklyness.

Anyway, I guess that is all.

Ok, you got it? Right. Now I'll continue with my post.

Today has been one of those.... uh.... not very fun days. One of those days where you look back at them with.... well more like you don't look back at them because you'd rather forget them. One of THOSE days.

It starts of with me waking up with a headache. NOT a good sign. I HATE it when I wake up with headaches. I roll out of bed, and Bug wants to play with his blocks before we eat, and I'm amazingly Ok with that. I go strait for my computer (also NOT a good sign), and turn it on. Is something wrong with a computer when it takes forever and a day to turn on and log you on? Then doesn't even recognize the mouse so I had to restart again and then turn it off, unplug mouse/plug it back in and wait another forever and a day for it to turn on? Is there something wrong with my computer or is this just "normal"?

Oh, I forgot to mention that while I was laying in bed trying to convince myself to get out, I was feeling those "cramps" again. I also was having kind of disturbing dreams and yadda, yadda, yadda.

Finally got computer on, check a few things and decide it is time for us to eat. We eat breakfast the whole while I'm just overall not feeling good. Every once in a while I'll get a faintness feeling, or my heart will feel like it is rushing but it isn't and I'm just DOG GONE TIRED! The time for band comes along and I'm grumbling to myself. Wishing there were someway for me to get the music to someone so they could find a sub, but knowing it was impossible and that I didn't have a good enough excuse anyway. Throughout the morning hours I am almost constantly thinking how I should shower but I didn't want to I was feeling that crummy. Ok, Ok, I know... squirm in your chair if you wish. That is up to you.

Band comes along and I'm listening to my music to try to get me feeling a little bit better about being in public today, but I never was really successful. In band we are getting ready for a big dance thing in February with a lot of charts and a lot of them are good-old-fashioned-songs-everyone-could-sing-even-if-they-don't-know-the-title-of-the-song type songs. One of which is called "Take the A Train".

The arrangement of "Take the A Train" that we have is one where the trumpet solo has to be played the exact same as the original because it is just THAT good. Everyone loves that solo and if it isn't played that way, people aren't happy about it. It is a cool solo. I had that part and was SOOOOO pumped to play it (notice the word WAS). We sight read it and everything and I didn't play it perfect because I didn't ever play it before, but I knew what it sounded like enough to do a pretty good job.

Why did I go off on that tangent? Well... mainly because of the fact that we got the set list today and were putting our music in the correct order for the gig. "Take the A Train" had been tossed off the list. Don't ask me why. Maybe it was because he didn't want us to play it? Maybe it was because we have a trumpet guy coming to play with us and he would have wanted to play it or told the teacher to toss it for other songs? Who knows? In any case, I'm really pissed about it. I was so pumped to play it. I was going to do a good job and show this teacher just what a good soloist I am (as long as I don't have to make up the solo as I go... hereby called improv). I have an even more dislike for this teacher (that I didn't like much anyway because of the way he teaches) than I had before.

Ok, that has been my day so far. Yeah, not a good day. The whole time my body feels like I'm falling apart as well. In any case. I'm back to where I started. Remember that first post I had you read before I got into this one? Yeah, I got home, grumbled at Rocket Scientist and Bug and put Bug down for his nap. Then I went strait for the Oreos. I'm back to where I started. It has taken me a whole year and a few months to get there, but here I am. Once again drowning my sorrows in a glass of milk and too many Oreos. Well, whatever. At least I'm trying. 60% of the time...

Results

Ding ding ding! We have a winner! Though I don't think it SHOULD count seeing as he guessed twice, but in any rate, Excelente you won! Give that man a high five! Or I could fly over to Boston to treat you to lunch, but that might be too much. ~_^ Anyway, here is the photoshopped picture.

If you can't see it all that well, click on it, and it will tell you what everything is. He first only started out with eyes, nose and mouth for him and then came over to me all excited saying... "Look! It's Bug!" (only he said his real name, he has been denying his nickname these days... yes you guessed it, it is Bug). I looked over all confused then realized what I was looking at. Then seeing as I wanted to encourage imagination, I went over to sit next to it as I prompted him to add hands. He decided to add the shirt. I was so amazed at his creativeness, I distracted Rocket Scientist from the book he was reading so he could goggle over Bug's inventiveness as well. He didn't seem as impressed as I was though. In any case, there you have it.

Oh, one more thing... after he finished his *cough* self-portrait, he wanted to do me. I suggested to him the holding hands thing, so yes, we are holding hands. After that, he wanted to do Daddy. Then after that, he wanted to do Cat (a neighbor friend who's son is like... best friends with Bug) who so happened to be at our house right then. They started to get pretty squished. I didn't take a picture of all of them, but they were all lined up in a row like these two are as well. We all seem to look pretty identical to him... lol

Fun imaginagions

Yesterday Bug was playing with his Lincoln Logs we got him... I mean uh... Santa gave him for Christmas. This is what he did with them:

Just for fun, I'm wanting to know what my readers think this is. I'll photoshop it and point out what things are and post it later today or maybe tomorrow so you all can have a chance to guess. If you win you'll get...... uh..... a virtual high five. ^_^ Good luck to all!

Potty Progress

So, we really haven't been doing much in the way of potty training. Every once in a while we will put him on but we are usually too late or catch him in a time of un-necessity. We stripped him down for the tub today, and then while I was looking away, he said, "Oooops," and was looking down. I followed his eyes. There were wet dots on the carpet. Not knowing exactly what they were (they very well could have been drips from my shoes, we had just gotten inside from a very wet day outside and he stepped on them...) I asked, "Do you need to go potty?" he agreed almost immediately, and we headed on in, me not even sure if this would even be worthwhile.

After a minute or less of sitting, he said he was done, and it was empty. I figured it was just a false alarm again anyway. I was about to put him in the tub before the water got too cold, but then he said he needed to go. I sighed to myself, and to please him, set him on and left for a little bit. I didn't want to sit on the floor waiting like usual. Eventually, he said he was all done and that he went potty. I was pulled to the computer screen at that point (lame excuse) and was halfway talking to him. Rocket Scientist came in then (from putting out some garbage), and I gave him a quick run down of what I thought was happening in the bathroom. Rocket Scientist then proceeded to say (after he went in there) that Bug had in fact gone potty. I came out of my computer stupor and was way shocked. I went into the bathroom to give a round of fives to help encourage this kind of behavior from now on. I was quite proud of my little Bug.

Date

Hurrah for dates with hubby and no taging along toddler! Ok, so I got back from a date with Rocket Scientist recently, and we had a good time. We ate at Firehosue pizzeria, which I only really suggest to anyone who likes hot food/olives/mushrooms. They are quite plentiful in that respect. Good pizza though, and yummy dessert. I surprised myself by eating 3/4 of a huge salad (about a foot diameter plate), two pieces of a really tasty pizza, three cinnamon sticks (like breadsticks, but cinnamony), AND a huge glass of root beer. I didn't even feel bloated afterward. Well... maybe a little bit, but not like I do at home sometimes.

We finished off the night by going to a used furniture store looking for a new coat stand for our apartment seeing as ours is very much top heavy... WITHOUT coats on it. We also dropped into Borders for a little bit cause it is a favorite store of ours and it was right next to the furniture store.

All in all, a great and fun night away from the little Bug. As cute as he is, even we need a night off. ^_^
