Can I have some?

welcome to my blog.

a place to post. a place to eat oreos. a place to vent. a place to heal.

i started this blog so i could use a different outlet besides munching on fattening oreos. as if that has done any good... *mind wanders to oreo package in the house...*

then i realized that oreos can be semi symbolic. if you are are that crazy about oreos that is. which... i am.

eating oreos is therapeutic for me. when i am struggling or when i need a pick me up. they have chocolate. and sugar. both of which help lift my mood. not to mention that i eat them soaked with milk, which is my miracle drink.

i post my posts to not only get stuff out. there may be people who read my blog who have been in the same kind of situations as i have. i hope reading them and knowing that others have gone through things like i have, will be to you what eating oreos does to me.

and yes. i didn't capitalize anything in here. i just felt like it. deal with it.

munch up.

Lazy afternoon

Once again my two boys are asleep for the afternoon and I am lacking things to do. I'm having mixed emotions about a multitude of things, and I don't know how to deal with them. So I guess I'll just go about wandering the little amount of my little apartment that I can where there is no sleeping people and wonder what I'll do with my life.

Potty

Ok, well, I just wanted to shout out to Bug even though he won't be reading this at least for a few more years and probably more then that in the way of it being interesting to him, but he went #2 today in the potty for the very first time. We haven't really been really strict or anything with training, and we are planning on taking it pretty slow (or more like as slow as he wants). Yay for Bug!!!

I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date...

Ok, so the Easter Bunny came awfully late and we just got our pictures of him with Bug. Hope you enjoy :)

Someone must have told him he would love what was in these eggs at the Easter Egg Hunt. The kid behind Bug must be sore because Bug got to his egg first...

Bug comes out victorious!!!

And here is the horribly late Easter bunny with Bug ^_^

Aaaaah the spoils of war... :)

Aww, is he sharing with me???

And here is the happy bug despite the hour, the cold, and the small breakfast.

Oh, and by the way, we didn't celebrate Easter in August... two very forgetful parents forgot their camera when they went to the community Easter Egg Hunt, and they borrowed someone else's. We finally got the pictures today. :)

Sleepy Bug

While I am being bugged out of my mind by a very ronchy Bug (no pun intended), I guess I will post something about him that melted my heart.

This post is actually a couple of day late, but here it is anyway. I was at my computer around 9ish a couple of days ago. Rocket Scientist went to bed a couple of hours before that and Bug was being awfully quiet. I decided to check on him. I went down the hall and saw this:

He had put himself to sleep. He even still has his shoes on and all that. When I went to take his shoes off, he didn't stir at all. Granted he hadn't had a nap that day (he absolutely refused to have a nap. He stayed in his room for like two hours or more just playing after I put him down for his nap), but I still thought it was absolutely cute. I decided that I just had to post it so I took a picture of him. I just have to keep reminding myself that he really is a cute little bug. Especially at times like this when he is being quite unreasonable.

A hot high five

Ok, well no one guessed what my "It's hot" story except my wonderful mother, but I figured she would know anyway. So she gets the official high five, and I know I said this before already, but now I am posting to let you readers in on the secret.

I was the child in the first story. My mom made me believe that salt cooled things down. I still to this day don't understand why she told me to put salt on it when I complained of the hotness...

The second story, I was the mom and Bug decided to chop his food up. Anyway, most of you probably don't care, but I thought I'd explain anyway. :)

Bugisms: 3

The past couple of days Rocket Scientist has been working graveyard shift. This morning I went in to see exactly he wanted to wake up and he told me but during that transaction, Bug came in to see what was going on. While I was trying to keep quiet and still know when he wanted to wake up, I was letting Bug know that Daddy needed to "night" (it is our term for sleep). So what did Bug do? He went and got his book (I think it was If you Give a Pig a Party) and "read" to Daddy so he could go night. Then he left while shutting the door and while I was still in there. It didn't last for long though, cause he came back in. Anyway, I thought it was cute. :)

Tribute

I'm just feeling in the mood I guess to post this. If I didn't would I post it? Anyway, here are some pictures of Little Angel as he grew.

Just a few little tidbits about Little Angel. He seemed to smile sooner and more often then Bug when he was at the same age. He outgrew his clothes fast and he seemed to be developing faster then Bug had. At one week old he turned over (see this post) and he just seemed more aware of his environment. A few weeks ago at church we had a lesson from the Joseph Smith Manual and it was called Words of Hope and Consolation at the Time of Death. The teacher asked me and a few other women to sing "I know that my Redeemer lives" for the middle of the lesson. She didn't tell me what the lesson was about, and I said yes. The few weeks before that I was really dealing with grief and all that, and I was seriously considering skipping out on the first few classes at church because my ward has two newborns in the ward and every time I hear them my heart aches again. I went to church that day because I had to sing in RS. And thank goodness I did because I really needed that lesson and I would have missed it otherwise. Anyway, I digress... I wanted to talk about this particular lesson for a reason.

There is a quote of Joseph Smith's and it says this:
I have meditated upon this subject, and asked the question, why it is that infants, innocent children, are taken away from us, especially those that seem to be the most intelligent and interesting. The strongest reasons that present themselves to my mind are these: This world is a very wicked world; and it ... grows more wicked and corrupt ... The Lord takes many away, even in infancy, that they may escape the envy of man, and the sorrows and evils of this present world; they were too pure, too lovely, to live on earth; therefore, if rightly considered, instead of mourning we have reason to rejoice as they are delivered from evil, and we shall soon have them again...
The italics I put in because they were the part of the quote that hit me the most. Above, I wrote about all the ways that I noticed that Little Angel was learning faster then Bug. I knew all that about being able to be with him again and that he was much better off away from the sins of the world, but I must have forgotten that for a couple of weeks. Everything around me seemed to remind me of my loss. Family reunions and all that. I'm glad that the teacher was inspired to ask me to sing because if not, I just might still be dealing with hard memories and all that.

Anyway, I was just planning on having the pictures on here, and sorry there are so many. I tried to narrow them down, but in any case, I just wanted to write my feelings I guess. In about two months Little Angel would be one year old. I can't believe how the time has flown.
